CHAOS 1.1 is part of the CHAOS series, an acronym that stands for Crazily Haunted Artithmetic Operation System. And the word crazy stands for very strange, unusual, unpredictable, nonconforming, odd or weird.
So forget the traditional method of solving arithmetic operations. This problem requires thinking outside the box. CHAOS series is made up of puzzles and riddles and not traditional maths. Mathematics in URAIMSIA, an Armchair Treasure Hunt Book, is something like Alice in Wonderland. So follow the white rabbit (your imagination) and enter the hole (thinking outside the box).
By the way, Jakim Vyzov is part of my pen name and a cyphered puzzle too. So you have to decode it to realize its real meaning. My whole pen name got 5 part, so Jakim Vyzov is just 2 of 5 parts. The rest of my pen name – the other 3 parts of 5 – is going to be showed when the book will be available for sale.
Solve the following problem if you can:
Divide a number X (dividend) by a number Y (divisor) so that the result Z (quotient) is several times greater than X (dividend).
Or in mathematical notation:
X ÷ Y = Z > X
By Jakim Vyzov
As you see, the first problem of the CHAOS Series is a division. There are three main parts to a division problem: the dividend, the divisor, and the quotient.
The dividend is the number that will be divided. The divisor is the quantity of people, animals or things that the number is being divided among. The quotient is the answer or the result or the outcome.
The dividend and the divisor are the input; the quotient is the output. And the method for solving the problem is the algorithm.
But remember: this is not a traditional mathematical problem so that you have got to think out of the box.
