The Suicidal Man
SCHEHERAZADE 1.1, part of the SCHEHERAZADE series, is a tribute to the One Thousand and One Nights.
So forget the traditional method of solving logic problems. This problem requires thinking outside the box. SCHEHERAZADE series is made up of premises that incite the imagination so that the objective is to discover the solution to the problem that matches the author’s. . Logic in URAIMSIA, an Armchair Treasure Hunt Book, is something like Alice in Wonderland. So follow the white rabbit (your imagination) and enter the hole (thinking outside the box).
By the way, Jakim Vyzov is part of my pen name and a cyphered puzzle too. So you have to decode it to realize its real meaning. My whole pen name got 5 part, so Jakim Vyzov is just 2 of 5 parts. The rest of my pen name – the other 3 parts of 5 – is going to be showed when the book will be available for sale.
Solve the following problem if you can:
Jack, a man in his forties, calmly climbs the parapet of a tall building, pulls out of his pocket a picture of two children, and slowly directs his lips to kiss them.
Then he takes a package from his pocket, puts the photo inside and throws it to the ground, making a metallic noise when he falls. It was a black plastic bag containing a weight made of silver so that it would not fly in the wind.
Jack looks again at the package and then at the sky, clear and sunny. A bird enters your field of vision, flying from the top of your head towards the front of you towards the north. He asks forgiveness from God and the children and plunges into the void – the emptiness that had been his life until now – whose destiny would be the encounter with the earth (From dust you came and to dust you will return).
Due to the noise of the body when it touches the ground, which immediately bounces – Newton’s third law explains that if a body A applies a force on a body B, body B will produce a reaction force on A; and Jack had also broken the golden rule that says “Do not do to others what you do not want them to do to you” – curious people head to the place. The police arrive a few minutes after the suicide. Investigators go up to the top floor of the building and find the package containing the children’s photo, Jack’s photo and a note with information. The entire building is searched, but nothing else is found.
Behind the picture of the two children, Jack had written information about them; and he had done the same in his photo. While the note said that the reason for the suicide was due to his desire for the children, he had already planned to kidnap them and prepared the place to rape them and keep them captive (he underlined the option of killing the three if he was discovered by the police).
One of the children was his little daughter, Caroline, and the other was Lucy, the little daughter of one of the neighbors.
Back at the body, which was now in the morgue, the investigators are surprised by a revelation from a doctor from the scientific police: the body was that of the man from Somerton.
After thorough examinations – comparison with the DNA of the man from Somerton with the help of the Australian police – the police found that the doctor was right.
But how was that possible?
Somewhere, Jack opens his eyes; He is tied to a bed. And he wonders where it is and why?
Can you tell us what happened to Jack still being alive somewhere while in the place of what was supposed to be his body was the Somerton Man? What is the connection of this story with the others in the Scheherazade series?
